When we also hold the relevant guardianship or other authority, we support healthcare decisions in line with the person's known wishes and needs. A conservatorship appointment alone does not grant every healthcare decision-making power.
Living arrangements and comfort
We coordinate authorized financial support for home maintenance, everyday living expenses, and transitions to an appropriate care setting. We work with the individual and those responsible for personal-care decisions to support a safe, comfortable environment that reflects needs, preferences, and available resources.

Understanding the appointment
Guardianship generally concerns personal affairs; conservatorship concerns estate and financial affairs. The court determines the scope of each appointment. We review the order, involve the individual as appropriate, and seek additional instructions when a matter falls outside our authority.
Services, fees, case capacity, and any necessary court appointment are discussed before acceptance. Investment returns, prevention of every loss, and placement outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
